PRESS RELEASE

StreamBase Offers Amnesty to Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 Customers

Credits and Best Practices Workshop Offered to Assist Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 Customers Migrating to StreamBase

LEXINGTON, MA (USA) and London (UK) — February 4, 2010  StreamBase today announced that customers of Aleri-Coral8 or Sybase-RAP can now register to trade-in their products and migrate to StreamBase’s Complex Event Processing (CEP) software under the StreamBase Amnesty Program for Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 Customers. This follows the announcement today that Sybase (NYSE: SY) has acquired Aleri.

“Although we applaud Sybase’s recognition of the CEP market and their efforts to enter it, today’s announcement of the acquisition of Aleri raises new questions about the future of this platform for customers and partners,” said Mark Palmer, CEO of StreamBase. “Given the uncertainty resulting from this merger, we are offering Sybase, Aleri or Coral8 customers a one-time credit to migrate to StreamBase.”

Richard Tibbetts, CTO at StreamBase, said, “It’s unlikely that Sybase will maintain 4 separate products.  Aleri had 3 separate CEP product initiatives; Coral8, Aleri, plus OHIO, their ongoing project to merge Aleri and Coral8. Sybase’s CEP product RAP is yet a fourth code base. As a result, we’ve been approached by customers of all these products and asked to provide migration strategies to StreamBase. StreamBase has obvious attraction for these customers as it is a platform based on industry standard SQL and a company with a single, unified focus on offering the best CEP platform in the industry.”

Under the StreamBase Amnesty Program for Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 Customers, customers will have until February 28th, 2010 to register their interest in trading-in their existing Sybase, Aleri or Coral8 CEP platform for StreamBase.  Previous investment in these technologies will be credited to the adoption of StreamBase. Register at www.streambase.com/amnesty to learn more.

StreamBase also offers a comprehensive program to assist with the migration process.  First, StreamBase has designed a Best Practices Workshop for those investigating the migration process.  Second, StreamBase is providing free porting services for any Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 clients that purchase StreamBase during 2010.

“Migration Best Practices: Moving from Aleri SPLASH or Coral8 CCL to StreamBase StreamSQL” is a workshop designed by Richard Tibbetts, StreamBase’s Chief Technology Officer, and led by StreamBase’s senior field architects.  The program is intended to assist Sybase-Aleri-Coral8 customers with the migration to StreamBase.
