StreamBase Announces Richard Tibbetts as Chief Technology Officer
Co-Founder and Chief Architect Promoted to Technical Leadership Role
LEXINGTON, MA — January 19, 2009 — StreamBase Systems, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance Complex Event Processing (CEP) software, today announced the promotion of Richard Tibbetts from Chief Architect to Chief Technology Officer.

As CTO, I will continue to advocate for CEP language standardization, enterprise-class event driven architecture (EDA), and event-oriented development tools that empower business analysts and professional developers,” said Richard Tibbetts, CTO, StreamBase Systems.
As co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at StreamBase, Richard represents StreamBase at academic events such as SIGMOD, VLDB, and DEBS, is a steering committee member for the CEP industry group EPTS, in addition to working with Oracle and other vendors on CEP standards. Richard provides technical leadership for the company and leads development of StreamBase’s Event Processing Platform, and is also responsible for StreamBase’s development of domain-specific ‘white-box’ application frameworks.
Richard earned both his BS in Computer Science and Engineering, and Masters of Engineering Degrees at MIT, where he contributed language design and performance analysis to the Aurora stream processing research project, a project which led to the founding of StreamBase.
