PRESS RELEASE

StreamBase 6.3 Delivers First CEP FX Framework

Features Represent a Major Milestone in the Maturity of CEP Technology

BOSTON, MA — April 6, 2009 — StreamBase Systems, Inc. today announced the release of StreamBase 6.3, the latest version of their award-winning Complex Event Processing (CEP) software platform.  StreamBase 6.3 includes updates to the core CEP platform, and marks the launch of StreamBase’s Foreign Exchange (FX) Aggregation Framework.

FX Aggregation Framework
StreamBase’s FX Aggregation Framework offers a White-Box approach to building FX trading systems by combining complete customization of the FX trading system with pre-built components such as FX Market Data Aggregation and FX order execution across multiple venues.

“FX is a key market for StreamBase.  The FX market is ripe with opportunity for capital markets firms, and they need a real-time, aggregated view of the market in order to take instant advantage of the trading opportunities that exist,” said Mark Palmer, Chief Executive Officer, StreamBase Systems. “StreamBase’s FX Aggregation Framework allows for depth of book discovery of multiple currency pairs from multiple venues and provides a rapid development environment to express trading strategies that generate alpha, price FX currency pairs and auto-hedge.  The FX Aggregation Framework also abstracts the details of sending orders to different venues making it easy to trade where the price is most favorable and also adds venues without adjusting the trade execution logic.”

StreamBase’s FX Aggregation Framework includes connectivity to the major FX venues and major FX dealer banks.  Initial FX connectivity with StreamBase 6.3 includes:

  • HotSpotFXi
  • Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading FX
  • Currenex
  • UBS Fx2B

“The global FX market suffers from considerable fragmentation.  There have been many attempts at FX aggregation, but market forces demand a more comprehensive platform that can combine multi-venue connectivity with total customization, low latency, and scalability, “ said Adam Honoré, Senior Analyst at Aité Group.

In addition to the FX Aggregation Framework, StreamBase 6.3 includes some key improvements to the underlying StreamBase CEP platform, including:

  • Support for Agile Development: StreamBase introduced a number of CEP firsts with its release of StreamBase 6.0 in June of 2008, including Visual Debugging, Profiling and Testing tools. StreamBase 6.3 improves upon these tools with enhancements to the Visual Debugger and support for Test Suites. Also, StreamBase 6.3 includes enhanced capabilities for Auto-Completion. These improvements and additions exemplify StreamBase’s commitment to usability, productivity and maintainability.
  • StreamBase Server Upgrades:  Central to the StreamBase Server is the StreamSQL EventFlow language.  StreamBase 6.3 adds additional functionality to the StreamSQL programming language, including the ability to represent lists of data and to use predicates to more flexibly define aggregate windows. Another key capability of the StreamBase platform is High Availability (HA), and StreamBase 6.3 adds additional HA configuration options that ensure maximum flexibility for larger enterprise-level deployments.

“StreamBase has always had a strong focus on ease-of-use for business analysts and IT developers to graphically develop, deploy, and evolve applications.  StreamBase 6.3 further deepens this commitment by not only making StreamBase easier to use, but also by making it easier to debug, test, and support,” said Richard Tibbetts, Chief Technology Officer at StreamBase.

StreamBase will demonstrate the FX Aggregation Framework in a webinar on Thursday, April 16th at 10am ET US, 3pm UK.  To sign up please visit http://www.streambase.com
