StreamBase Systems provides a private URL, and a CD-ROM directory, that contain an Eclipse plug-in site from which you can download and install the StreamBase Studio plug-ins into an existing installation of Eclipse 3.2.
The plug-in sites are designed to provide a snapshot of the Studio plug-ins, and do not provide access to continuing updates to those plug-ins as other Eclipse plug-in sites might do. Because of this single-use access, it is possible for Studio installed from the site to become out of sync with the versions of StreamBase Adapter installations you may have installed. To prevent this version skew, StreamBase Systems restricts plug-in site access to existing customers and well-qualified evaluators.
If you have a StreamBase 5.x Enterprise Edition installation
CD-ROM, you already have the plug-in site. Look for a directory named
eclipse-update-site at the root of the
CD-ROM.
To obtain the private URL for the update site, contact StreamBase Systems Customer Support or your StreamBase Systems representative.
The StreamBase Studio plug-ins have the following prerequisites:
-
Eclipse 3.2 base installation, which includes the Java Development Tools (JDT).
(Eclipse 3.3 is explicitly not supported, and the Studio plug-ins will fail to install into Eclipse 3.3 or later.)
-
The GMF and EMF modeling framework plug-ins.
-
Eclipse running on a supported Windows or Linux machine, as described in Supported Configurations. As an unsupported preview, the Studio plug-ins also install on Mac OS X. The plug-ins will decline to install on all other platforms.
The recommended method to obtain these prerequisites is the following:
-
Download the latest available 3.2.x version of Eclipse from:
http://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.2.2-200702121330/index.php
